Creative people needed.
JoAnne Schiavone is a local artist who just finished her MFA in sculpture from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Her latest art project is designed to be a sculpture that needs a community to create it. A 75’ doily is being crocheted out of plastic shopping bags. Anyone interested in working on an art project, hanging with other creative people, learning how to crochet and relaxing with a crochet hook outside under the trees is invited to join in by emailing JoAnne at schiavonestudios@aol.com or call her at 717-244-0264.

No experience crocheting is necessary. Gatherings will vary from mornings, afternoons, and evenings on different days to work around your schedule.

Series on Art
Connie Rae did a beautiful job today with her presentation at First Presbyterian's adult sunday school class. They currently are doing a five week series titled, "God in the Gallery." She sat at her potters wheel, threw two pieces of pottery while telling us how her creativity intersects with her spirituality. What a talented artist who has a heart that beats for Jesus.
Now, I covet your prayers as I prepare to conclude the series at First Presbyterian the next two sundays, July 5 and July 12. First talk: Embracing Your Creativity - a brief recount of my creative and spiritual journey. Second talk: Vertical Creativity - encountering God through our creativity and the arts.

I'm thinking it would be FUN to have a little photo challenge/contest. Up for it? Here's the topic: REFLECTIONS. [Can you tell the photo above inspires me deeply?] For more inspiration and creative ideas to get you in the mood, click here.

YORK Photowalk, 6/27
Tony S. sent me a web link to the York Photowalk on Saturday, July 27 at 10:00 am. This sound's really neat, learning the history of York AND taking photos at the same time! Click here for more information.
This very well could be our June Aperture Photo Outing this month. Yeah, yeah, we saw York last month. But this time it's an intentional "tour." Could be really cool!
Hope to see you there -

For Women Writers
The Ungrind is a great woman's webzine. Their webzine is interested in non-fiction, first-person narrative articles that deal with every day issues women face in areas including spiritual growth, friendship, marriage, motherhood, career, finances, culture, and suffering. Click here to see what you need to know in order to submit your written pieces.
They do topics each month as well. So check it out, write something and submit it.
A word of advice, be sure to read every word about written submissions. Often each place has very specific ways they want the pieces to be submitted and what style they are looking for, etc. And, be sure to fully read the magazine and become familiar with their style and content. This way you will know exactly what the feel is so you can write your work to fit their genre.
So, ladies - "go for it!"
