Lynn Royer took this photo in a field in Lancaster County. I love the feeling it evokes. The colors are soothing and you can almost hear the breeze flowing through the tall grass. Thanks Lynn for sending this in to VC-Photography!

Evening at Lake Williams
Our family kept a friend's dog while they were away for the week. Bonnie is the dog's name and we just fell in love with her! We took her to Lake Williams one lovely evening and here are some shots from then. I love the colors of pink and blue as the sun set over the water.
Meet Bonnie - shaking the water from her fur. I like this shot because she's illuminated by the afternoon sun and partially in the shade of a tree.
Another sunset photo over Lake Williams.
I love messing around with my camera. I admit, I can't use it to it's fullest potential. I would love a lesson on digital SLR photography (note: I added a link list for online resources - look in the sidebar to the right). So, occasionally, I'll put it on full manual mode and try for some creative shots. This is not one of them. But it's neat nonetheless, I think.

Wildlife by Cliff Kern
"These mushrooms are called morel mushrooms. They are a very rare, hard to find, expensive, and delicious mushroom that can be found around here in the spring. They're by far the best type of mushroom I have ever had." ~ Cliff
Thanks Cliff for sending your photos in for us to experience. To see more of Cliff's photography, visit his web page.

Photo Field Trip images by deAnn
This photo holds so much emotion, fresh flowers on a grave. Misty morning air hovering over the valley. I'm happy with the way it turned out.
This photo of the Last Supper was a total mistake. I didn't have my lens hood on at the time and sunlight streamed into my lens. But the effect is pretty cool, considering the subject.
Here you can see a light golden glow on Jesus' face even though the statue is facing away from the morning sun. John held a reflector for this shot so the face can be seen.
This photo haunts me.

The above shots are by me, deAnn Roe, taken with my Olympus E500 dSLR. The scenes captured are from our photo field trip to Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York, PA.

Photo Field Trip images by John
A week ago today a pile of us showed up at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens on a crisp summer morning. We walked around in the solitude of community or just alone and captured whatever drew us in. Below are some photographs from John Briggs camera - enjoy! Jesus as a boy on the steps of the Temple
This is a great shot of Jesus' peaceful nature and the hand of a religious leader, tightly grasping the scroll.
The last supper.
Jesus being baptised by John the Baptist.

John uses a Canon 40D and the lens he used was a Canon EF 22-70 / f2.8.

Photo Field Trip
In the mood for a photo field trip?
When: This Saturday, 8/9
Where: Susquehanna Memorial Gardens
Time: 7:00am to 8:30am (give or take)
Bring: your camera, tripod, filters, etc
Weather: if it's raining, we'll postpone
Why there?: This cemetery has beautiful life sized statues, structures, wonderful trees and flowers. One of my favorites is the scene of Jesus teaching at the synagogue. It may seem odd to meet at a cemetery, but the grounds are gorgeous and as the sun creeps over the hill in the morning, the statues almost glow. I always wanted to experience their grounds through my lens. Don't worry, I got permission to do this, under one condition, we honor the families and do NOT take photos of the names on the tombstones.
This will be a peaceful and reverent field trip. Our approach to this will be one of prayerful anticipation of sensing God's presence as we meander the pretty memorial gardens, capturing creative images and getting to know other photographers in our church family.
No need to RSVP. If it's not raining, I'll be there shooting - even if no one else shows up. But it would be really cool to have a nice sized group. Invite who you like. Just keep in mind the reverence we should have for the beautiful memorial garden. Oh, feel free to bring a journal along too, in case you are moved to express through words or sketch.
